BANKRUPTCY ACT.

Per Press Association. NEW PLYAIOUTH, July 29. Charged with conducting a business in a manner which brought them within the provisions of the Bankruptcy. Act, William Edmund Reesby and Thomas Charles Reesby, formerly butchers in New Plymouth, were committed for trial to-day by Air R. W. Tate, S.AI. They pleaded not guilty to eight charges that, on various dates,* they contracted debts with individuals and firms without at the time having reasonable or probable expectation of being able to pay those as well as other debts. They were also charged with failing, during three years prior to their bankruptcy, to keep proper books. Bail in £IOO each and one surety of £IOO was allowed in each case.
