JUMP FROM BRIDGE.
SYDNEY, June 24. The first woman to commit suicide from the Sydney Harbour Bridge was Mrs Ellks, aged 24, who to-day jumped from the structure, turned several somersaults in mid-air, and struck the water 180 feet below nearly side on. She was rescued by boatmen and rushed to hospital, where she told a pathetic story of melancholia. She died from the shock of the immersion and head injuries.
