SEARCH FOR TREASURE.
VANCOUVER, June 24. A report that a Canadian expedition led by Colonel J. E. Leckie had discovered a pirate’s hoard of treasure buried on Cocos Island after it had been stolen from the Lima Cathedral over a century ago, is not confirmed. It is said that a metalophone located the Devonshire treasure near the spot where Admiral Pallier searched, but the news is too indefinite for acceptance.
