ACCIDENT AT CHELTENHAM.
MAN SEVERELY INJURED; A serious accident occurred at Cheltenham yesterday, when Mr James Stewart suffered severe injuries through being struck by a motor car. At the time Mr Stewart was on the roadway near the school. He received a compound fracture of the right ankle and a severe lacerated wound on the face and head. A doctor from Feilding attended the unfortunate man and he was then taken in the Free Ambulance to the Palmerston North Hospital. The motor car, after the accident, skidded and turned over, none of its occupants being hurt. The Hospital authorities reported today that Mr Stewart’s condition was serious, there being no improvement.
