MASSEY COLLEGE.

STUDENTS VISIT RANGITIKEI. A party of 34 Massey College students, under the direction of Professor G. S. Peren, the principal, visited the Itangitikei district this week to inspect stud stock and hear lectures on the essential points of breedings. The party proceeded from the city by charabanc, and the first call was made at the farm of Mr A. L. Wheeler, Leedstown. The partv, which was introduced by Professor Peren, was entertained at dinner and tea during the visit, and following Mr "Wheeler's address on sheep breeding the members were given some points on the art of judging, later boing given several pens of Romneys on which to pass judgment. Mr Wheeler was assisted by Messrs A. G. and W. K. Morton in the judging competition. In most cases the students showed commendable knowledge, and Mr Wheeler congratulated them on their good work. Professor Peren later thanked Mr Wheeler for the courtesy shown to the students, ;and Mr Wheeler assured the party that he was only too pleased to be of service to them.

Later in the day, the party visited the home of Mr J. Brice, at Fern Flats, when they were addressed by Mr Brice and Mr W. K. Morton. Mr A. Stuart, M.P., was also present and expressed himself as pleased with the method [adopted whereby the students could pay visits to the various farms about the district. Professor Peren returned the visitors’ thanks to the speakers and to Mrs Wheeler and her daughters for entertaining them to tea.
