ENTERTAINMENTS

PALACE THEATRE. STANLEY LUPINO IN “THE LOvA RACE.” It would perhaps bo as well not to refer to hereditary traits when talking of Stanley Lupino's first appearances on the stage, for he first “camo on” as a monkey in pantomime, made his West End debut as the cat in "Dick Whittington,” and subsequently played “Puss” in “Puss in Boots” at Drury Lane. Yet thero is no doubt herodity played a part in helping Mr Lupino to mako such an outstanding success of theso characters, for ho is, of course, ono of the Lupino family, famed for their dancing and acrobatic ties.

REGENT THEATRE. HEAVY BOOKING FOR EPIC PRODUCTION “OVER THE HILL.” That the popularity of the old-time favourite, “Ovor the Hill,” has not waned in any way is exemplified in the initial attendances at the Regent Theatre, where the season is being continued this evening at 8 o’clock.

KOSY THEATRE. WILLIAM POWELL IN “HIGH PRESSURE.” William Powell, at the Kosy Theatre tonight, in "High Pressure,” amazes by a cyclonic comedy characterisation,, utterly at variance with the melodramatic roies which have made him famous. Recognised as a past master not only in the portrayal of suave men of the world, but of derelicts, Powell, as the Gar Evans of “High Pressure” is given a chance to play . both dandy and “down-and-outer,” but rhis resemblance applies to externals only.
