Yesterday afternoon a car, when coming from Martinborough, met with an accident opposite Mr Shannon’s property at Whakarongo. The vehicle dropped into a hole in the road and burst one of the front tyres and then skidded and turned on its side. After travelling some distance in this manner it turned over and caught fire.
