MILK GRADING
FOR CHEESE FACTORIES. - APPROVAL OP MANAGERS. Milk grading was among a number of important questions dealt with at a course taken by sixty members of the New Zealand Dairy Factory Managers’ Association under the direction of the New Zealand Dairy Research Institute at Massey College this week, and after a full discussion, the following resolution was passed: “Having had an opportunity of discussing the question of milk grading for cheese factories and giving consideration to the different methods of testing in the classifying of the milk, this conference urges the necessity of wholehearted support being given to this movement, and, whilst being fully aware of the difficulties of the problem and of the legitimate difference of opinion as to methods, considers that everything possible should be done to assist the Dairy Division in its effort to establish milk grading, realising that only by experience can th% method of carrying of this be improved.” It was decided that a copy of the resolution should be forwarded to the Departments of Agriculture and Scientific and Industrial Research, and to the Dairy Produce Board.
