(From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON, May 5. Thero was a largo attendanco of lady members at tho Herrington links on Wednesday afternoon when the monthly stroke competition was indulged in, the winners being as follow: A grade, Miss N. Robinson; B grade, Miss Easton. Inspectors Blaikie, Crosby and Herrington are at present visiting the schools m this district. The Manawatu River is still \— *" dirtv as a result of tho recent flood. The presence of silt in- the water has u.cn ij le cause of Messrs Rosa Rough and Co.’s mill closing down temporarily as it is dependent on tho river for its water supply.
