TRIAL IN HONOLULU
FINAL WITNESS FOR DEFENCE. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) Received April 21, 2.15 p.m. HONOLULU, April 20. Thalia Massie, the final witness for the defence in the Fortescue trial, told in tears of the offence of which Kahahawai and others were accused, fthe described her husband's worry, culminating in the shooting of Kaliahawai. A Hash of temper by Mrs Massie brought applause from the women in the court, calling forth a severe reprimand from the Judge. The prosecutor was attempting to question her on the mental test sire had undergone at the University of Hawaii. She refused to answer on the ground that it was confidential. Wlicn the prosecutor persisted, she tore up tlie record of the examination. Sobbing, she embraced her husband, saying: “He had no right to ask me tliat; everybody knows that I love you.”
