Mr Charles Anderson Scott, who left England this morning on a flight to Australia, arrived here, refuelled, and left immediately. Mr Scott hopes to set a new record to Darwin. AIR ROUTES. LONDON TO THE CAPE. (British Official Wireless.) Received April 20, 8.5 a.m. RUGBY, April 18. Mr J. A. Mollison, who recently ao* complished a record flight to Capetown, arrived at Southampton this morning. He said that he did not think the West African route to Capetown was impracticable for commercial purposes if proper landing grounds and fuelling stations were provided. Long stretches of country between landing stages constituted the greatest difficulty at present. FLIGHT IN AUTOGIRO. (British Official Wireless.) Received April 20, 8.5 a.m. RUGBY, April 19. Mr J. N. Young, an ex-Air Force pilot, intends to fly to .South Africa in an autogiro. This will be the first long-distance autogiro flight, and as the machine is designed for safety and not speed ho will not attempt records. Mr Young thinks that as it is able to dispense with large landing grounds, the autogiro is specially suitable for use in undeveloped country.
