PLANS FOR PHAR LAP.
NOMINATED FOR RACE ON SUNDAY. - Received March 22, 12.55 p.m. AGUA CALIENTE, March 21. Woodcock, the trainer, revealed today that Phar Lap had a bruised leg, but the bruise was not serious. However, it might make the leg sore for a day or two. Phar Lap has been nominated by Mr D. J. Davis for the Agua Caliente Consolation Cup race, a sweepstake with 2500 dollars added, the mile and a-lialf feature on Sunday, which closes the track’s winter season. When the nomination was made on Sunday night, Mr Davis was not aware of the bruise. Woodcock said on Monday that it was doubtful whether his charge would start.
