'PLANE CRASHES.
AIRMAN KILLED. DETROIT, Dec. 5. Mr Lowell R. Bayles, of Springfield, Massachusetts, the speed flier, was killed on Saturday when his ’plane struck the ground and burst into flames. While making an attempt on the world land ’plane record a few days ago, Mr Bayles attained 281.9 miles an hour.
