LIFE OF PARLIAMENT.
EXTENSION POSSIBLE
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Dec. 6.
It is generally understood in political circles that there is every prospect of the life of Parliament being extended to four years. This, it is believed, will be one of the questions discussed if an early session is held in February. The -opinion gained ground among members in the last Parliament .hat the three-yearly period was inadequate for the policies to be put into operation, and the election campaign did not reveal any marked hostility to this proposal whenever the question happened to be raised, and public opinion is believed to be generally favourable. Should the lire of Parliament be extended to four years, there would be no licensing poll until 1930.
