BOXING CONTESTS.
Per Press Association. BLENHEIM, Dec. 6. Two valiant hoys, Harry Lister, of Grey mouth (list. 7flb.) and Joe Tierney, of Blenheim (12st, 101 b.), put on a terrific glove battle over 15 rounds, ending ill a technical knockout victory tor Lister in the final session. It was a willing mill the whole distance, and was packed with more thrills and action than usually characterise a professional contest. Tierney, who was making his first appearance in -he cash ranks, made the early fighting, but over the concluding rounds Lister liad a lead on points. He downed Tierney four times before tho end with vicious, clean punches. Tom Croft, New Zealand amateur middleweight champion, defeated Alee Dasler, of Blenheim. It was a good fight.
