MEDICAL TREATMENT

3.15 P.H. EDITION

CHRISTCHURCH DOCTOR’S CLAIM. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph. —Copy righ t.) Received December 5, 12.25 p.m. LONDON. Dec. 4. Dr Norman Haire, who has made a study of eugenics, states that the value of the Christchurch doctor’s claim to have discovered a wheat oil capable of remedying debility and childlessness depends on the presence of a vitamin with rejuvenating properties already recognised in wholemeal bread, which has for long been prescribed for cases where vitality and fertility are low. "The discovery may bo important in permitting larger quantities of this vitamin to he taken in a concentrated form, obviating the necessity for eating several loaves,” says Dr Haire. It is not likely to supersede the Voronoff and Steinach glandular treatments, as the latter give wider and moro sustained effects.” A message relative to the above appears on page 0.
