PAHIATUA, Dec. 4,
Tho annual meeting of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union was held yesterday afternoon. The president (Mrs 11. Paterson) presided over a fair attendance of members. The treasurer (Mrs O. Johnson) presented the financial statement. Reports on their departments were given by Mrs Paterson (general report), Mrs A. P. Fox (Band of Hope), and Mrs M. F. Ryan (‘‘Wljite Ribbon”). Tho following officers wero elected for tho ensuing year: President, Mrs 11. Paterson, vice-presidents, Mcsdamcs W. B. Pickering, A. F. Sutherland, Hansen, Willis and J. D. Wilson; hon. secretory, Miss H. Ross; hon. treasurer, Airs O. Johnson; public hospital visitor, Miss 11. Ross; Band of Hope committee, Mosdarncs Paterson, Pickering, Ityari, R. W. McNab, and J. D. Wilson, and Miss Ross. Tho hostess for tho afternoon was Mrs Paterson. Votes of thanks were carried to those who held office during the past year ; and in particular, was expressed appreciation of the work of tho president, Mrs 11. Paterson. After the meeting, members made up a parcel of gifts to be sent to tho Willard Home.
