AUSTRALIAN FIGURES. IMPORTS OF LESS VALUE. COMPARATIVE FIGURES. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received December 5, 10.55 a.m. SYDNEY, Dec. 5. Australia’s overseas trade figures for tho first four months of the financial year showed a surplus of exports over imports of £7,181,000. The exports amounted to £27,909,000 in Australian currency compared with £32,611,000 for the corresponding period last year. Expressed in sterling values, the comparison is £21,382,000 against £30,591,(XX). Imports were valued at £14,200,000, against £27,301,000 for the same period last year. Expressed in Australian currency, tho decline was from £29,964,000 to £18,442,000. Exports of butter showed a rise of nearly £1,000,000 to £2,516,132. Wool, however, declined from £7,453,608 to £6,497,399. Wheat rose from £2,467,694 to £3,137,658.
