Consideration was given to the position of affairs in the Ohakune-Raetihi home mission district, and the presbytery gave approval to the negotiations initiated wi.-.h the Methodist Church with a view to uriting forces in that district. If Methodists and Presbyterians formed a union church there it might be possible to appoint an experienced minister to take charge. Rev. E. T. King, of Taihape, was appointed moderator o:f Ohakune-Tai-hape in place of Rev. D. Mclvor. The presbytery listened with appreciation to very encouraging reports from the following home mission stations: Apiti (Mr A. F. Stewart); Bulls (Mr A. C. Lane) ; Feilding outfields (Mr A. Fotheringham) ; Hunterville (Mr D. B. Stewart): MangawekaRewa (Mr P. M. Murray) ; Palmerston North outfields (Mr W. J. Berry); Upper Aramoho (Mr W. R. Martin). Rev. C. W. Watt presented a call from Fordell in favour of Mr H. Lloyd Wilkinson, B.A. (licentiate). The call was signed by 46 members and 14 adherents. The stipend offered was £3OO per annum with car allowance. Mr Wilkinson has had experience as a teacher, and has recently completed his course of study for the ministry. After commissioners from Fordell had been heard in support of the call, the presbytery sustained the call for transmission to Mr Wilkinson. It was arranged that, if Mr Wilkinson accepts, the ordination be held in Fordell Church on December 15, the moderator of presbytery to conduct the worship and ordain Rev. J. Paterson to address the minister, and Rev. L. H. Ker. to address the congregation.
