COLLEGE ST. SCHOOL FETE
As a means of augmentin'; its funds, the committee of the College Street School, assisted by the ladies’ committee, will conduct a garden party in the school grounds to-morrow afternoon, when the function will be, officially opened by Mr J. A. Nash, M.P., at two o’clock. The two committees have been preparing for the effort for some timo and an array of stalls will carry goods to attract purchasers, while in addition there will be competitions and items of entertainment to maintain the interest of palrons. Parents of the children will .also bo interested in tho exhibition work which has been arranged for their benefit by tho headmaster and tho members of the teaching staff, for it will furnish them with an interesting insight to tho nature of tho work now undertaken in modern schools. The function will also bo held in the evening when tho City Band will bo in attendance and tho drawing of the doll competition will be made at 9.15 p.m. During the year the committees have worked very energetically for their school and to-mor-row’s feto will enable parents to .inspect tho extent of rheir activities and incidentally realise tho necessity for funds to permit of tho ambitious programme being carried still further.
