GRUESOME MURDER
BODY IN THE SEINE. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received December 4, 1.30 p.m. PARIS, Dec. 3. One of the most gruesome murders, for which marital jealousy was responsible, is that of a young photographer, Louis Brunet, allegedly the lover of Madame Monvault, wife of a nightwatchman. M. Brunet disappeared for several days. Monvault is reported to have made a statement to the police that he fulfilled a threat to wrap M. Brunet in iron netting, attach an iron weight to his neck and throw him in the Seine. Rene Plisset, a supposed accomplice, told a sensational story of torturing M. Brunet for twenty minutes before he was strangled to death with a towel. Plisset guided the police to the banks of the Seine and stood watching while a diver descended and found in the mud Brunet’s body, resembling a grotesque mummy encased in steel netting.
