OBITUARY.
MRS R. W. LITTLEJOHN. mem ber of a well known local family, Mrs Barbara Amelia Littlejohn, passed away at her late residence, No. 164 Botanical -Road, on Tuesday, after a brief illness. The fifth daughter of the late-Mr and Mrs Joseph Mayo, the deceased ladv was born at Drury in the Auckland ~ Province, her parents later removing to Palmerston North, where Mr _>iayo started in business as a nurseryman. On the completion of her schooling §he entered the teaching profession and in the ensuing years was stationed for varying periods at Pohangina, Awahuri and the Old Campbell Street (School, and gained for herself a wide cir .de of friends by reason of her ability and thoroughness. An enthusiastic croquet, player, Mrs Littlejohn had proved to be a valued worker for the takaro Club, of which she was elected a life member some little time ago. She was also a member of the Croquet Referees’ Association and acted as a referee on manv occasion-. In 1901 she married Mr Robert Wilson Littlejohn, and in addition to her husband she leaves three children to mourn their loss, the members being Messrs Robert Mayo Littlejohn and Thomas Wilson Littlejohn and Mi— Annie Littlejohn. Mrs Heerdegan. or Dargaville, and Mrs F. H. Richards, of Cuba Street Extension, are sisters of the deceased, while Messrs J. D* Mayo, of Botanical Road, and F. M . Mavo, of Te Teko. Whakatane. are brothers. Two brothers and three sisters predeceased her. The mortal remains were laid t.o rest- at the Palmerston North cemetery this afternoon, Canon Woodward officiating at both the house service and at the graveside.
