FUTURE IN POLITICS. “I suppose you will be tlie next Prime Minister'of Australia,” said a politician to Mr S. M. Bruce, at a dinner to the Canadian Prime Minister, Air R. B. Bennett, at the Alayfair Hotel. London. “There is one thing you can her certain of,” replied Air Bruce, “and that is I won’t.” Air Bruce sat at the top of the table, amid almost the entire British Cabinet. He had a strange neighbour in Sir Herbert Samuel, one of Britain’s most rigid free traders, with Air Walter Runciman oil his other side. It was a remarkable gathering, the leaders in every branch of industry, over 30 peers, the High Commissioners. Air Rudyard Kipling, and many other prominent men being present.
