POSSESSION OF FIREARMS.
STIFF FINE IMPOSED

AUCKLAND, Dec. 3
While interviewing Corneille Hubert de May, aged 37, a farmer, in connection with another matter, the police found in the house where be had been residing an automatic pistol and a revolver with 144 rounds of ammunition. To-day accused, who denied the ownership of the weapons, was fined £SO or six weeks’ imprisonment. It was stated that he had previous convictions.
