MURDER CHARGE.

Per Press Association,

DUNEDIN Aug. 20. The returning of no bill in a murder charge by the Grand Jury at New Plymouth on Tuesday is not an unprecedented occurrence in the judicial History of New Zealand. When the subject was mentioned to Mr A. C. Hanlon, K.CL, he stated that a case occurred at Dunedin in 1901 in which two successive Grand Juries threw out a charge of murder against a seaman. After the first Grand J ury had returned ano bill accused was arrested again and re-indicted, but the second Grand Jury adopted a similar course, accused then being discharged.
