MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
A Maori named Rangi Martin, alias Rangi Potuku, a labourer, of no fixed abode, appeared before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., at the Magistrate’s Court to-day, charged that, on June 27, at Palmerston North, he committed the theft of a cheque valued at £2l 7s 2d, the property of Leong Wai. In applying for a remand till Monday, Detective Russell stated that there were other charges pending. The application was granted. I
