Flying above Batavia in the twilight, Mr J. A. Mollison, the Australian airman, who started off on his journey to England from Wyndham (Australia), could not find an aerodrome and was forced to make an emergency landing fifteen miles to the south.

There was no damage, however, and Mr Mollison, will leave at one o’clock in the morning for Singapore, thus maintaining tho advantage gained by his record flight from Wyndham to Batavia. ATLANTIC FLIERS. ARRIVAL AT CARDIGAN. Received July 30, 12.20 p.m. LONDON, July 29. The Atlantic fliers, Messrs Clyde Panghorn and Hugh Herndon, landed at Cardigan at seven o’clock to-night. PANGHORN FORCED DOWN. Received July 30, 1 p.m. LONDON, July 29. Fog forced down Panghorn with eight hours of petrol left. He landed in a field without mishap, continuing at dawn. MR CHICHESTER’S PLANS. MANILA, July 2S. The New Zealand airman, Mr F. C. Chichester, is unable to continue his flight to Tokio because of Japanese restrictions. Mr Chichester arrived at Manila on July 17 and was to have left for Tokio to-day. AERIAL VACATION TRIP. COLONEL AND MRS LINDBERGH. Received July 30, 11.10 a.m. NEW YORK, July 29. Colonel and Mrs Lindbergh have arrived at North Haven, Maine, for family farewells before continuing their aerial vacation trip to Tokio.
