RAILWAY REVENUE.
RECENT FIGURES. The net railway revenue in the Dominion for the period of 11$ weeks from April 1 to June 20 last was about 5 per cent, above the figure ler the corresponding period last year. The gross revenue for tlie period was £l,564,395, and expenditure was £l,352,653, leaving a net revenue of £211,742. For the corresponding period of 1930 the gross revenue was £1,875,693, but expenses totalling £1,674,316 left a net revenue of onlv £201,377. J The considerable decrease in gross revenue this year is contributed to by numerical reductions in both first ana second class passenger tickets, and in motor service travel, while goods traffic was down by 300,920 tons for the period of 11$ weeks as compared with last year.
