SHANNON.
(From Our Own Correspondent). SHANNON, July 23,
Exceedingly unpleasant weather conditions rather marred the match between the Herrington (Foxton) Club and Shannon on the local golf links on Saturday. Tho local men were victorious in the aggregate for the day and the local ladies were defeated by 7£ to 2£. Afternoon tea was served by Mrs C. Easton who is an honorary and much appreciated member of the club. Before leaving for home tho visitors expressed their appreciation of the hospitality received and hoped that better weather would favour future meetings between tho clubs. Next Saturday the men’s team will journey to Levin and the Levin ladies will visit Shannon. The following teams have been selected; Blythe, C. Stern, McKenzie, H. Stern, Morgan, Campbell, VentrySmith, Mabey, King, Whyte, G. Smith, Blackwood, Mark, Conquest, McLean and H. Taylor; emergencies, Henry and Brann.
