OROUA DOWNS.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) BAINESSB, July 21. A kitchen test was tendered to Mr Lance Sexton and Mies May Gimblett in the hall on Monday evening on the occasion of their approaching marriage. The hall was filled with friends of the prospective bride and bridegroom and during the evening Mr J. Cameron, on behalf of the' residents, asked the young couple’3 acceptance of a collection of kitchen utensils for their new home, and eulogised the bridegroom’s assistance of all local activities, ho having lived in the district all his life and would still be living in the district. Mr Sexton suitably replied on behalf of himself and Miss Gimblett. Musical honours were sung and supper followed and dances wore enjoyed until the early morning hours when “Auld Langf Syne” brought the evening to a close. Miss McKenzie and Mr G. Mil lard supplied the music for the dances. Mr H. Proctor acted as M.C.
