FRONTIER DEFENCES.
FRENCH. EXPENDITURE. PARIS. July. 4. The Senate to-day passed an additional appropriation of £20,000.000 for fortifications on the Belgian, German and Italian frontiers, upon which £11,500,000 already has been spent.
The scheme comprises amazing concrete trenches and works, in which whole regiments can be housed.
