GENERAL FORECAST. The pressure distribution is irregular in the Tasman Sea and New Zealand area. Barometers are falling on the East Coast of Australia. Winds variable, but moderate north-west to south-west prevailing. Seas rather rough at times about Cook and Foveaux Straits, but otherwise smooth to moderate in New Zealand waters, Winds variable in the eastern Tasman Sea with southeast to north-east prevailing; seas smooth to moderate. Weather mainly fair to fine, but some scattered showers chiefly over the South Island. Temperatures cooler. DISTRICT REPORT. RAIN PROBABLE. The Government meteorologist wired to-day • The indications are for northerly moderate to strong winds, freshening Expect dull weather with much'mist and fog in parts; rain nrobable.
