PERSONAL.
The friends of Mr W. J. McCulloch, of the Department of Agriculture, will be pleased to learn that he has returned to his home from hospital and is well on the road to recovery from his recent severe illness.
Mr S. A’. Gover, manager of the Bank of Australasia’s Marton branch, lias received notice of his transfer to the Wellington branch. His successor is Mr A. H. Hawk, at present manager of the Otaki branch. Mr 0. P. Lynch, of Paraparaumu, president of the Manawatu provincial executive of the Farmers’ Union, has been indisposed for several days, and was unable to attend the meeting of the executive in Palmerston North to-day. Mr A. Henderson, for several years headmaster of the Inglewood Public School, and for the past three and ahaif years the headmaster of the Hamilton West School, lias been appointed to a position at the Karori School, Wellington. ’ Mr W. W. Vaughan, headmaster of Rugby, says the Weekly Scotsman of May 2h, is retiring at the end of the current term, and is to be succeeded by Mr P. H. B. Lyon, at present Rector of Edinburgh Academy, a position he has held since 1926. During the war he served with- the Durham Light Infantry; lie received the M.C. in 1917, and later was wounded and taken prisoner.
