ATHLETE’S DEATH.
The death occurred recently of a well-known English hurdler, T. C. Liv-ingston-Learmonth, following an operation at Khartoum. He was in' the first flight of Cambridge . University .hurdlers in 1928, and would have been in the lead, .hut for the fact that, his period coincided with such brilliant performers .at. AVeichtman-Smith and Lord Burghley. When the last-named established a world’s record for the 440yds hurdles at the English Amateur Athletic Association’s championships, Liviugston-Lenrmonth. was second and he occupied that position when Weightnian-Smith set up an inter-University record of 15 2-ss. for J the 120yds hurdles.
