RETURNING A COMPLIMENT.
When the Hawke’s Bay Rugby team Svas approaching the height of its power in 1924 it played Auckland in Auckland, at the special request of the Mayor of Auckland, now Sir James Gunson, in a friendly match, the proceeds of which went to the fund for i-the Auckland War Memorial Museum. • ffhis year the Auckland team is return- ; sng the compliment; it will play ; Hawke’s Bay in Napier "or Hastings, *ho takings to go to the sports fund of ' secondary schools which suffered , through the earthquake. One suggestion that has been made is that F. ' Lucas should lead Auckland and that i Maurice Brownlie should captain ! Hawke’s Bay.
