DIVORCE ACTIONS.
NUMBER IN ENGLAND. LENGTHY LIST FOR JUDGES. Received April 20. 9.20 a.m. LONDON, April 19. The popularity of divorce necessitates special methods in the law courts for speeding up the hearing of cases. Within four days three Judges disposed of 300 out of 491 cases, average ten minutes apiece. Lord Merrivale, President of the Divorce Court, however, is not satisfied and is installing microphones and loud speakers in order to obviate the wastage of time caused by inaudible witnesses.
