CLAY BIRD SHOOTING.

PALMERSTON NORTH GUN CLUB

Good scores were recorded on Saturday when the Palmerston North Gun Club continued its series of shoots in fine weather.

The 17tli round of the Stubbs Cup (10 birds) resulted as follows: —W. A. Thomson, M. Ivearins, M. Lombardi and B. K. Thomson, 9 birds each; P. A. Meehan, N. D. Stubbs, 8 each. The shoot for trophies presented by Messrs C. E. Brown and G. Haar resulted in a popular win for M. Lombardi, W. A. Thomson defeating N. D. Stubbs and B. K. Thomson for second place. A 10-bird sweepstake was won by M. Kearins, all on, N. D. Stubbs and B. K. Thomson dividing second prize. A box sweep, all off 24 yards, was won outright by W. A. Thomson.
