Addressing the annual meeting of the Chamber of Commerce, the retiring president, Mr Malcolm Stewart, said that the*depreciation of the New Zealand pound compared with the. British pounu to the extent of 10 per cent, was puzzling the business community, and a frank statement by the associated banks would be welcomed.
