CYCLE MEETING.

COUNTIES’ CLUB’S EVENTS,

Members of the Counties’ Professional Cycle Club conducted a successful meeting at the Sportsground on Saturday afternoon. The sports attracted a large number of spectators and several good times were achieved. The star performer was A. Ellis, of Taranaki, who won three races and gained second place in the remaining two events. During the afternoon children’s races were field. Detailed results are as follow :

Three mile cycle.—A. Ellis (20yds.) 1, S. Ward (80) 2, W. Collie (100) 3. Seven starters. Time, Bmin 52 3-5 secs. Won by ten lengths, with half a wheel between second and third. Five mile cycle.—A. Ellis (25yds.) I, W. Collins (150) 2, Hendrickson (500) 3. Sev«n starters. Time, 13min 17 3-ssecs. Won easily. , CHILDREN’S EVENTS. Boys’ flat race.—A. Johnston 1, R. Howe 2, C. Mechen 3. Boys’ 500 yards.—F. Ward 1, K. Robbie 2. T. Williams 3. Girls’ three-legged race.—K. and E. Greening 1, N. Stracken and H. Collins 2. Boys’ three-legged race.—A. Johnson
