TERRIFIC HEAT.
WAVE IN QUEENSLAND
ONE HUNDRED AND TEN DEGREES AT ROMA.
Received January 3, 10.25 a.m. BRISBANE, Jan. 2. Practically the whole of Queensland is in the grip of a heat wave. The maximum at Brisbane was 96 yesterday, but at Roma it was as high as 110. In this: town the " post office, several shops and an hotel were destroyed by fire,. \ A station owner near 'Kynuna perished when a blaze destroyed Iris home.
