Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., to-day sent one motor-cyclist to gaol and fined another £5 for being intoxicated. Frederick George Palete, aged 29, was sentenced to a month’s imprisonment. i

The police said that he had got into difficulties in a city street and crashed and was taken to hospital for treatment and escaped. 1 The Magistrate said that accused had a bad list in connection with motor-cycles and had been ordered not to ride for two years. He was not going to pass over his latest offence. William Charles Griffiths, aged 34, who crashed into a car in Queen Street, was fined £5. “Let him sell his motor-bike, said the Magistrate when defendant asked for time to pay.
