When play in the foursomes had finished the prize presentation ceiemony was held on the putting green. The president (Mr A. Seifert) extended a cordial welcome to the visitors. He stated that the season just closing had been a notable one in the history or the club, no fewer than five tournaments having been decided on the course. The first Dominion ladies foursomes championship had been held here. Then there had been the local ladies’ and men’s championship tourneys, besides the Easter event, and, lastly, the big Dominion amateur, professional and open championships. Mr Seifert particularly mentioned the magnificent performance put up by Shaw in the “open,” a feat which would keep the Manawatu course before the public for many years to come.’ The numerous inter-club matches and their value membeis were referred to, and Mr Seifert then extended his congratulations to Miss B. Gaisford on her remarkably fine record in championship events this year, culminating in being runner-up for the big Dominion event. Discussing club matters, Mr Seifert intimated that the water scheme would, when carried out, be of the greatest value to the course. In the summer the greens dried up badly and it took nearly half the season to bring them back again. The plans for the water scheme drawn up by Mr F. Hay were very fine and, when carried out, Mr Seifert believed they would make the course one of the best in the Dominion. The committee would again consider the scheme early in the New Year. Mr Seifert reminded members and visitors that the course would be open all the summer, and that competitions would be arranged from time to time. Thanks were conveyed by the president to the staff for their excellent work. Mrs Seifert then presented the prizes as follow for the season 1930: MEN. Club championship: A. E. Ekstedt; runner-up, H.
