GENERAL FORECAST
A slight depression has crossed the Dominion and another has since advanced on to it. Barometers are still ratlier high over eastern Australia. The situation is more of the normal spring type than was the case a week ago. Moderate west to south winds, freshening somewhat at times. Seas rather rough at times about Cook and Eoveaux Straits, but otherwise smooth to moderate. Moderate west to south winds and moderate seas in the eastern Tasman Sea. AVeather rather unsettled and changeable, with showers at times in most districts. Temperatures cool.

MILDER TEMPERATURES.
The Government meteorologist wired to-day: The indications are for moderate southerly winds, gradually veering by west to north. There is a prospect of fair to cloudy weather, with milder temperatures. The barometer will rise slowly after about 16 hours, but will fall again later.
