HEAD-ON COLLISION.
AIOTOR-CAR AND CYCLE. AIAN KILLED. WELLINGTON, Sept. 20. A head-on collision between a motorcar and a motor-cycle on the Petone side of the Koro Koro railway crossing occurred about 10.40 o clock last night. As a result one man was killed, and a woman is in Wellington Hospital. The driver of the car is under arrest. The dead man is Air William Hentryf, of 18 Victoria Street, Lower Hutt. At the time the accident took place the car, a sedan, was travelling toward Wellington, and the motor-cycle was going in the direction of Lower Hutt. About half-way between the crossing and the railway station at Petone the two vehicles collided, ine motor-cycle avll’cli was driven by Mr Hentryf, jammed into the front of the car On the pillion of the cycle was Airs Humphreys, who, it is believed is a sister-in-law of Air Hentryf. Both were flung from the machine. Air Hentrvf’s skull was fractured, and he died "shortly after the mishap, while Airs Humphreys suffered injuries to her back, and lacerated wounds to her legs. It is stated that the motor-car travelled some distance after the impact, bending the cycle beneath it. The driver of the motor-car was Clarence D. H. Orr, and there were several passengers in the car, although none of them sustained any injury.
