REDUCTION OF GRANTS.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON. Sept. 18. Replying to a deputation to-dar from the Society for the Protection of Women and Children; Hon: E. A. Ransom. acting Prime Minister, said tho Government had been very reluctant to cut down grants for social services and he honed to make an arrangement wherebv the society’s grant would be restored. If thev could not restore the whole of the £IOO he would be very disappointed.
