WRESTLING.
DR. SARPOLIS INJURED. . McGILL WINS WRESTLING CONTEST. At Brisbane on Wednesday night, Pat McGill (15st 91b), the Irish wrestler, gained a decision over Dr. Sarpolis (lost 21b.), of the United States. Sarpolis gained the first fall in a strenuous bout which culminated in McGill throwing Sarpolis heavily with an aeroplane spin. The doctor was so injured that he was unable to continue, and McGill was awarded the victory. WALKER TO MEET LURICH. The New Zealand Wrestling Association has arranged a match between George Walker and Tom Lurich, the latter of whom has just recently been wrestling successfully across the Tasr man. This bout will be held at Auckland on Monday night. Though Tom Lurich is a very able wrestler and is heavier than Walker, the British Empire champion can be trusted to give a good account of himself, and is always a more dangerous opponent when the odds are, o* a fall has been registered against him.
