TRAVELLERS’ CLUB.
An enthusiastic meeting of Palmerston North and district commercial travellers decided last evening to inaugurate a Travellers’ and Commercial Social Club, Mr A. Kennedy presiding. A temporary committee was formed to frame suggestions, rules and details to be laid before a general meeting, at the premises of the Dominion Auctioneering Company in King Street early next month, when officers will be elected. The prospects of the club seem very, bright, and a vigorous and helpful body should take form. Club interests will be catered for by ladies’ nights, sports and an annual picnic, while several other important functions are being kept in view, including a charity day to benefit worthy local causes. All business men and travellers will be weloome at the formation meeting.
