TIAKITAHUNA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) TIAKITAHUNA, Sept. 18. A large number of local residents and others gave a “house-warming” party to Mr and Mrs Holger Voss, of Karere, on Wednesday evening. Dancing was indulged in while among other forms of amusement were cards and competitions. Songs were given by Mrs Fell, Messrs E. Whitelock, E. P. Nielsen and H. McEwan, the accompanists being Mesdames Voss, Fell and Edwards. Music for the dancing was supplied by Mrs Fell, Miss V. Tanner and Mr C. Croucher. Mr F. Garner was M.C. Competition winners were Misses L. Nielsen, and I. Fell and Mr C. Croucher. Praise is due to Mrs H. McEwan for the organisation of the programme. An excellent supper was much enjoyed by all. Mr R. D. Knight spoke in glowing terms of the hard work put into his farm by Mr Voss to rnako it tho success which those present knew he had made of it. His examplo was an excellent one, which could be followed by all young farmers. He thanked the host and hostess for throwing open their new home for that evening. Mr H. Voss suitably replied.
