SERIOUS REBELLION.
FRENCH RULE CHALLENGED. MANY CLASHES IN INDO-CHINA. HONCpKONG, Sept. 19. . Reports here reveal chaotic conditions in French Indo-China and Annam, where scarcely a day passes without armed clashes between the native bands rebelling against French rule. The most serious incident from the point of view of casualties occurred last Friday at Yinh, an important centre in Noi-rii Annam, where an army of rebels many thousand strong marched on and launched a mass attack. The French forces were in readiness and employed a squadron of military ’planes, which checked the rebels after a lively encounter, the latter leaving over a hundred dead. Hundreds are wounded and many were captured by the French pursuers. - ' The country has a semblance of a war zone, the French supplementing, their existing forces with Foreign Legion detachments.
