AMERICAN WRESTLER.

RAY LEAVES FOR WELLINGTON. Tom Ray, the American wrestler, who was injured in his bout with Kala Pasha at the Opera House on Wednesday evening, was discharged from the Hospital this morning, the muscles of his back, which were torn, having responded to treatment. Ray left this afternoon for Wellington. Prior to his departure he called at the “Standard” office to state that the referee at the contest was not responsible for his injury. It was simply that he did not “holler” out in time, to use his own language. Ray intends to rest for two or three weeks in Wellington before entering upon further bouts, this being necessary to allow the injured muscles time to regain their strength.
